A world-class example of city-enhancing placemaking, St James Quarter is one of the UK’s largest and most significant regeneration projects, of which we are proud to be a part-owner and developer. With an estimated investment value of over £1 billion, the development will create a 1.7 million sq ft urban resort, comprising 850,000 sq ft of retail space, anchored by John Lewis, a multi-screen cinema, a 4 Star apart hotel for Roomzzz and a world class W Hotel, which represents their debut in Scotland, comprised of 244 rooms. In addition, 152 private apartments, offering breathtaking views over the city, set a gold standard for prime residential accommodation. Designed by Allan Murray Architects, the development will help move Edinburgh further up the UK retail rankings, from 13th to 8th, and will support the city’s tourist industry, which contributes an estimated £260 million to Edinburgh’s economy each year. St James Quarter will also create up to 3,000 permanent jobs.
