The MI 529 Advisor Plan is comprised of portfolios containing underlying funds from Nuveen, TIAA and other leading asset managers. In fact, the plan has something for everyone. You may invest for your clients with as many of the following portfolios offered as long as the total allocation equals 100%.

Portfolio options

This portfolio is broken into ten multi-asset target date portfolios named after the beneficiary’s expected year of school enrollment. As the enrollment year approaches, it automatically adjusts by gradually reducing its equity holdings.

This portfolio may be appropriate if your clients prefer a diversified investment portfolio with a fixed risk level rather than a risk level that changes as the designated beneficiary ages.

This portfolio is designed for clients who desire a more targeted investment strategy for all or a portion of their accounts.

To allow for maximum flexibility in customizing your clients’ portfolios, you can also choose to add specific individual investment portfolios to the allocation mix, allowing investors to further refine their risk profile depending on personal financial goals.

Returns quoted represent past performance which is no guarantee of future results. Investment returns and principal value will fluctuate so that when shares are redeemed, they may be worth more or less than their original cost. Current performance may be higher or lower than the performance shown. Total returns for a period of less than one year are cumulative. Returns without sales charges would be lower if the sales charges were included. Returns assume reinvestment of dividends and capital gains.

There are various risks associated with an investment in the MI 529 Advisor Plan; principal loss is possible.

The MI 529 Advisor Plan (MAP) is offered by the State of Michigan. TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. (TFI) is the Program Manager and Nuveen Securities, LLC, member FINRA and SIPC, is the Distributor.

Before investing, carefully consider investment objectives, risks, charges, expenses, and other important information. For this and other information that should be read carefully, please read the MAP Plan Description. Also, consider whether your or your beneficiary’s home state offers any state tax or other benefits, such as financial aid, scholarship funds and protection from creditors, that are only available for investments in that state’s qualified tuition program.

Participation in MAP does not guarantee that the account's assets will be adequate to cover future tuition or other higher education expenses, or that your beneficiary will be admitted to or permitted to continue to attend an institution of higher education. Investments in MAP are not guaranteed or insured and there is risk of investment loss.
