Is it time to reallocate to real estate?
Private investing offers a number of levers to help create value, but investment scale, experience and access to relationships are essential.
1 Diversification does not assure a profit or protect against loss.
A word on riskMutual fund investing involves risk; principal loss is possible. Equity investments such as those held by the Fund, are subject to market risk, call risk, derivatives risk, other investment companies risk, common stock risk, and tax risks associated with MLPs. Concentration in specific sectors may involve greater risk and volatility than more diversified investments: real estate sector involves the risk of exposure to economic downturns and changes in real estate values, rents, property taxes, interest rates and tax laws; infrastructurerelated securities may involve greater exposure to adverse economic, regulatory, political, legal, and other changes affecting such securities. Foreign investments involve additional risks, including currency fluctuation, political and economic instability, lack of liquidity, and differing legal and accounting standards. These risks are magnified in emerging markets. Investments in small- and mid-cap companies are subject to greater volatility. In addition, the Fund will bear its proportionate share of any fees and expenses paid by the ETFs in which it invests.
Debt or fixed income securities such as those held by the Fund, are subject to market risk, credit risk, interest rate risk and income risk. As interest rates rise, bond prices fall. Below investment grade or high yield debt securities are subject to liquidity risk and heightened credit risk. Preferred securities are subordinated to bonds and other debt instruments in a company’s capital structure and therefore are subject to greater credit risk. Asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities are subject to additional risks such as prepayment risk, liquidity risk, default risk and adverse economic developments.
