Steve J. Krupa

Steve manages separate accounts for Nuveen’s municipal fixed income team, focused primarily in the northeast. As one of the company’s spokesmen on municipal market issues, Steve is often quoted in various financial publications, including Bloomberg News, Reuters, and The Bond Buyer.

Steve began his career in the investment industry in 1979 when he joined the firm’s municipal research department as an analyst. Prior to his current portfolio management role, he was the head of municipal trading operations for Nuveen for six years. In 1990, Steve began working as a mutual fund and closed-end fund portfolio manager for the firm. Previously, he was a municipal bond trader, responsible for trading the firm’s capital.

Steve graduated with a B.A. in Business from Illinois Benedictine College and an M.B.A. in Finance from DePaul University. He is currently a member of the Chicago Municipal Analysts Society and was formerly a member of the Municipal Securities Rule-making Board.
