Richard Cheng

Richard Cheng is the head of Nuveen’s Investment Grade Corporate sector team as well as an investment grade portfolio manager for Nuveen’s global fixed income team and a member of the Nuveen Global Fixed Income Investment Committee, which establishes investment policy for all global fixed income products. He is the lead portfolio manager on all investment grade corporate mandates including the Nuveen’s long duration fixed income strategies and liability-driven investing mandates. He is also co-manager of the Short-Term Bond strategy.

Richard’s prior experience at the firm involves covering Latin America for the emerging markets debt team as well as covering paper and forest products, chemicals, metals and mining, health care, technology, and utilities and gas pipelines for the investment-grade credit team. He joined the firm in 1997 and he began working in the investment industry in 1991. His prior experience includes various roles at Chase Manhattan Bank as part of its management development program.

Richard graduated with a B.S. in Accounting and Management and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
