About Stephen Wicks
Stephen is Head of Retail for the U.K., fund manager of the U.K. Shopping Centre Fund and U.K. Outlet Mall Partnership developing both funds strategies, working closely with the teams on all aspects of the fund, specifically investment, debt, finance, development and asset management activities.
Stephen re-joined the firm in 2013 as fund manager of the U.K. Shopping Centre Strategy. He was instrumental in the joint venture funding agreement with APG on the St. James, Edinburgh mixed use retail, leisure, hotel and residential development. He started his career at real estate consultants, Cushman & Wakefield, advising both retailers and investors. Stephen moved into the commercial division of Strutt & Parker, advising both retail property owners and occupiers in leasing, development and investment. In 2002, Stephen joined Henderson Global Investors’ retail team as an asset manager and acted as fund manager of the U.K. Shop Fund. In 2007, he left to head up the retail team at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, where he moved onto Head of U.K. Asset Management, was fund manager of their flagship U.K. Core Property Fund and was pivotal in the sale of the Fund to Blackrock.
Stephen graduated with a Diploma in Property Investment from Reading University and a B.Sc., Honours, in Land Management from the University of Portsmouth. He holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and REVO.
