Brittany Ryan

Brittany is Head of Sustainability leading the ESG program for the Americas portfolio. She oversees ESG integration, ensuring the strategy is sufficiently embedded across business areas including product development, portfolio management, investment management, client reporting, and governance. Brittany has developed end-to-end climate risk acquisitions processes providing investment teams with the training and tools to factor physical and transition risk into investment decision-making.

Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate, Brittany supported the Principal Real Estate Responsible Investing program as an account manager at RE Tech Advisors. She also spent three years strengthening 30+ major U.S. cities’ energy management solutions through the U.S. Department of Energy Better Buildings Initiative and has shaped several corporate sustainability programs.

Brittany graduated with a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, specializing in Environmental Policy and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is a Fitwel Ambassador and a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Level II Candidate and participates in several industry committees.
