About Patrick R. Maher
As Head of Institutional Municipal SMA, Pat is responsible for managing a number of custom client portfolios, as well as Nuveen’s High Income and Tax-Aware crossover SMA strategies. Pat oversees a group of portfolio managers responsible for the firm’s Limited Maturity and Ladder strategies.
Pat joined the Nuveen portfolio management team when he started at the firm in 2010 as a Municipal Trader, providing trading and analytical support to the SMA team, and was named a Portfolio Manager in 2013. Prior to Nuveen, Pat spent three years with Moody’s Investors Service providing analytical support to a team of municipal credit analysts focused on the Midwest region. He began his career in the investment industry in 2005.
Pat graduated with a B.A. in Finance from North Central College and an M.B.A. in Investment Management from DePaul University. He is a member of the Municipal Bond Club of Chicago.
