Karen Hiatt, CFA^®

Karen is a portfolio manager for Nuveen’s equities team. She has portfolio management responsibilities for large-cap growth strategies.

Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Karen worked for Allianz Global Investors where she was a Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Global Technology. In her role at Allianz, she was a portfolio manager for large cap growth strategies, including Lead Portfolio Manager for the AllianzGI Focused Growth strategy. Additionally, she was head of the Global Technology team, with oversight of several technology and global thematic funds including managing the Hi-Tech strategy. Prior to these roles, Karen served as U.S. Director of Research, Head of the U.S. Consumer Team and a Senior Research Analyst. Prior to joining Allianz, she was a Vice President at Bioscience Securities, a boutique investment bank. Karen entered the investment industry in 1994.

Karen graduated with a B.S. in Finance, cum laude from Santa Clara University. She is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Society San Francisco.
