Louis T. Bauer

Louis Bauer oversees the U.S. industrial and logistics sector for Nuveen Real Estate, leading strategic direction and operations across a portfolio that currently totals 96 million square feet spanning 34 markets. Prior to this role Louis served as Head of U.S. industrial transactions. Since joining Nuveen in 2018, he has closed on the acquisition and/or development of 58M SF of industrial assets with a transaction value of over $6 billion.

Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate in 2018, Louis served as a vice president with Hillwood. In 2011, he assisted in raising Hillwood’s first industrial fund with Brookfield totaling $400 million. From 2012-2018, Louis focused on industrial acquisitions and joint venture development opportunities in the eastern U.S. During his tenure at Hillwood, Louis worked on 34 million square feet of industrial acquisitions, including Verde Realty, an 18 million square foot portfolio and 10 million square feet of industrial joint ventures. Prior to Hillwood, Louis spent three years with Crow Holdings.

Louis graduated with a BBA in both Finance and Accounting from Texas Christian University. He is an active member of NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) and REFIC (Real Estate Finance and Investment Center) at the University of Texas.
