About Michael Hunter
Michael oversees the housing and alternative sector team globally for Nuveen Real Estate. The sector totals over $40b and 120,000 units globally. In this role, Michael is responsible for overseeing all investment and operational activity. Michael also defines the global strategy for housing and alternatives focused funds and investment vehicles. He is a member of the Global Executive Leadership Team and a voting member of the Americas Investment Committee.
Before joining the firm in 2017, he served as Senior Investment Officer for the New York State Common Retirement Fund. He has also worked in an acquisitions capacity for Blackpoint Partners and Griffin Capital.
Michael graduated with a B.S. in Environmental and Business Economics from Rutgers University.
