Katie Grissom

Katie is responsible for leading a dedicated team of professionals that focus on retail and mixed-use investments. She oversees the overall strategy, performance and day-to-day activities of Nuveen Real Estate’s investments across this sector, which represent over $18B of value.

Prior to joining Nuveen, Katie was a Managing Director at Asana Partners, a $6.5 billion mixed-use and retail driven real estate private equity firm, where she was a member of the Investment Committee and Executive Committee. She had overall responsibility for leasing strategy, national relationship development, and marketing.

Prior to Asana Partners, she worked at L Catterton leading operations for portfolio retailers and one of the nation’s leading fitness brands. She oversaw financial performance, increasing same store sales, and partnered across L Catterton's portfolio companies to find synergies and drive operational excellence.

Katie graduated with a B.A. in Finance and Spanish and a Minor in Economics from Wofford College and a Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. She is a member of ULI and the International Council of Shopping Centers. She was named to Charlotte’s 30 Under 30 in 2018, and is a board member at Barcelona Wine Bar (an L Catterton brand) and OOKIOH, a digitally native retailer.
