TH Real Estate finishes modernising Erlangen arcaden mall | News
TH Real Estate has successfully completed an extensive revitalisation of the Erlangen Arcaden, a 30,400 sq m (c.327,223 sq ft) shopping centre in south-west Germany.
The repositioning began in Autumn 2017, supported by operator Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, totalling around €10 million.
The new design, exciting tenant mix, and high quality experience will attract consumers to the centre which welcomes around 9.7 million visitors per year. Erlangen Arcaden’s anchor tenants include Deichmann, dm, New Yorker, s.Oliver and Thalia. In recent months, brands such as Levi’s, Tommy Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear, Sostrene Grene and Nespresso, have opened at the centre, while long-term tenants have extended their contracts and introduced their latest fit-out concepts.
For more natural light, the shopping centre has received two new atriums, with the design focussing on natural materials with wooden and fabric look. The quality of stay is improved with generous lounge areas, signposting and colour coding across three floors. This allows visitors to enjoy the space and better navigate their way around the centre, and a new children’s area also makes Erlangen Arcaden more family friendly. With lights stretching across 2,500 metres, Erlangen Arcaden has also implemented important sustainability initiatives such energy-saving LED lighting.
"The modernisation of Erlangen Arcaden has been inspired by the needs of our c.30,000 daily visitors. The clear positioning and strategic concept of Erlangen Arcaden will allow it to continue as the number one shopping location in northern Bavaria” comments Niklas Baldauf, Portfolio Manager at TH Real Estate.
