Hema is a senior research analyst for the Global Infrastructure Team, specializing in the North American utilities and waste industries.
She began working in the financial services industry in 2002 and joined Nuveen Asset Management in 2012. Prior to joining the firm, Hema worked as a principal at Piper Jaffray where she was one of the founding members of the Clean Technology & Industrials group. In this role, she was responsible for capital market and M&A transactions for companies in the alternative energy sector. Before joining the financial services industry, she worked in a variety of financial roles at United Technologies in Singapore and at HCL Corporation in Singapore and New Delhi.
Hema received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Madras, India, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is also a Chartered Accountant. Hema serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Children’s Museum and is also on the Investment Committee of The Blake School Board of Trustees.
