U.S. offshore wind: Blowing in the right direction
Despite the current obstacles of slow permitting and rising costs, the U.S. offshore wind industry is picking up pace. The Biden Administration has taken great strides forward with ambitious offshore wind targets as well as several initiatives and incentives which should encourage private sector investment and streamline the development process for the offshore wind farms of the future. Slowly but surely the industry is also building up strong supply chains and sound infrastructure. The signs are positive and point to one overall conclusion: the offshore wind industry will be a central component of the U.S.’ clean energy future.
