About Michael Schwaab

Mike is the lead portfolio manager for the CASA Series of closed-end apartment funds, responsible for their strategic planning and management. He is a member of the senior leadership team that oversees the investment process for the CASA funds, and he also plays a key role in setting strategic priorities for all of multifamily housing mandates, across a range of accounts on behalf of various clients.

Prior to his current position, Mike was responsible for sourcing direct transactions and identifying joint venture investment opportunities for the CASA Series and various other U.S. accounts. Prior to that he was employed by Equity Residential Properties Trust for ten years. With over $5 bn in transactions closed during his career, Mike has extensive experience in both single asset and portfolio transactions of direct real estate, joint venture, REIT and development deals. He entered the industry in 1990.

Mike graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.S. in Real Estate Appraisal and Investment Analysis from the University of Wisconsin. He serves on the advisory board for the National Multifamily Housing Council and is a member of the ULI Multifamily Product Council.
