Case study: A common language for impact

Circular orange and grey building
We are pleased to share a case study produced in conjunction with the Impact Management Project and the Impact Alliance focused on Nuveen's usage of the IMP+ACT Classification System (ICS). The ICS is a digital tool that helps asset managers to self-report on their ESG and impact management practices in a standardized format.

Nuveen was part of the initial tester community during the ICS roll-out and joins a growing number of practitioners that recognize the benefits of using a common language to describe the social and environmental impacts occurring within assets or portfolios of assets. This Case Study aims to provide further insights into the thinking that Nuveen applies when understanding, measuring and managing the impacts of their investment strategies. It outlines the approach taken for the Nuveen Global Impact Strategy, a private equity strategy managed on behalf of TIAA.
