About John
Based in New York, John supports Nuveen’s Real Assets platform, including its agribusiness affiliate, AGR Partners, with deal sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management. With 27 years of investment experience, John is a member of AGR’s board of directors and investment committee. Previously, he founded and managed TIAA’s agribusiness investment team and portfolio since its inception in 2010. From 2005 to 2010, John was a member of TIAA’s alternative investments team, focusing on middle market private equity buyout funds, including equity and mezzanine co-investments. He spent seven years on TIAA’s corporate private placements team and two years with the high yield debt team. Before he joined TIAA in 1996, John sourced and structured bank loans for middle market borrowers at National Westminster Bank.
John holds a BA in economics from Colgate University and an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School.
