About Jasper Gilbey
Jasper is Head of the TIAA General Accounts real estate equity portfolio in Europe – a c.$3bn+ portfolio comprising a combination of direct wholly-owned investments and strategic joint ventures across the office, industrial, housing, retail and alternative sectors. He is focused on implementing portfolio strategy and driving performance via selective rotation and delivering strategic new investments - via asset, portfolio or joint venture structures.
Prior to his current role, Jasper was responsible for the management of the Cityhold Office Partnership (“CHOP”) – a joint venture between the TIAA General Account, Swedish National Pensions System’s AP1 and AP2 buffer funds and CBRE GIP. He was instrumental in setting up the venture in October 2015 and focused on realizing selective sales to rebalance the portfolio in parallel with deploying the €1bn committed equity across Europe’s gateway office markets. Jasper joined the firm in 2011 as fund manager of a French office & industrial fund before being promoted to assume responsibility for the management of the company’s wider office and industrial portfolio in France in 2012. In this role, he managed acquisitions and disposals whilst also contributing to new business initiatives. Prior to joining the company, Jasper worked for Insight Investment and Invista REIM. He was responsible for panEuropean acquisitions and managed a cross-sector pan-European portfolio, as well as a French separate account. He began working in the real estate industry in 2007.
Jasper graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of the West of England and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
