Overview
The Corporate Arbitrage and Relative Value (CARV) strategy seeks to provide investors with attractive risk adjusted returns alongside meaningful downside mitigation. CARV’s three building blocks are managed by Nuveen’s Leveraged Finance specialists, who bring decades of experience in their respective markets and are backed by the firm’s extensive credit expertise and research depth. Historically low correlations among the sleeves allow for rebalancing amid changing market conditions to capture the best opportunities and keep overall volatility low.
Strategy highlights
- Convertible arbitrage: The core engine of the strategy, pairing long convertible bond positions with equity shorts and seeking to capture opportunities across credit, equity and volatility.
- Long-short credit: A flexible allocation across high yield bonds and senior loans, including distressed situations and tactical hedges, to help generate alpha and manage risk.
- Opportunistic CLO debt and equity: A differentiated source of return used when structured credit valuations are compelling.
Built to navigate unpredictable markets — while seeking to turn uncertainty into results.
