About Isela Bahena

Isela Bahena leads infrastructure investment origination and structuring across renewables, digital, transportation and energy transition assets for Nuveen Infrastructure. She joined the company in 2004 and has over 20 years of investment and portfolio management experience across a variety of sectors and asset classes.

Since 2017, Isela has led investing in the infrastructure portfolio’s largest transportation asset on behalf of TIAA and a consortium of international investors, and today serves on the board of multiple portfolio companies in Europe and North America, including Mersey Gateway Bridge, DataBank, and I-595 Express, as well as Bernhard Energy Solutions in an observer board seat. Isela has previously invested in structures such as private equity funds, co-investments, mezzanine and private placement debt, and currently holds multiple LP advisory board roles. Prior to joining the firm, Isela was responsible for public finance and general middle-market lending and underwriting at Bank of America.

Isela graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
