Nuveen Green Capital's strong start to 2024

Nuveen Green Capital has kicked off a strong start to the year, underscored by an exceptional 15 industry awards

Despite continued market turbulence, C-PACE industry leader Nuveen Green Capital is experiencing a strong start to 2024. In addition to appointing several new hires, including Christopher Lawton, Head of Originations, Ryan Doyle, Senior Director, Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Originations, as well as David Schatz, Vice President, Policy, NGC  has also already closed numerous significant deals, including a including a $42 million C-PACE financed new development project, The Yard in Woodinville, Washington, as well as a $90 million C-PACE refinancing deal for two hotels in Hollywood, California.

On the policy side, Georgia and Idaho have recently been added as C-PACE eligible states.

The positive start to the year for the C-PACE industry and NGC is underscored by the below 15 industry accolades.

Real Estate Capital USA: C-PACE Lender of the Year 2023

This award, determined via industry votes, recognizes lenders, borrowers, advisers and deals that had a significant impact on the market in 2023 and USA Fundraise of the Year > $1bn, also determined through industry votes, honored NGC’s deep sector expertise, allowing institutional investors access to invest in clean energy and impact opportunities.

Philadelphia Business Journal 2023 Best Real Estate Deals of the Year – Spring Garden Apartments

This award honors the best real estate deals in Greater Philadelphia. It was awarded to NGC for providing $40 million in C-PACE financing for the Spring Garden Apartments – the largest C-PACE financed deal (to date) in the state of Pennsylvania, as well as the second multifamily deal under the recently expanded C-PACE policy.

GlobalCapital ESG Issuer of the Year

This award, determined by industry votes, recognizes the industry's leading deals and institutions.

UK Insurance Award - Insurance Asset Risk Climate Mitigation Investment of the Year

The award recognized NGC’s work in creating an innovative investment solution to help insurers achieve their environmental goals.

Kayo 24 Leading Women in Real Estate Private Equity - Alexandra Cooley

This award, honoring the top 24 women in real estate debt finance, including Ali as a “bold industry leader who found innovative solutions in the debt markets and new avenues for financing and generating returns.”

Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal (MAREJ) - The Largest Historic Preservation Project of 2023 - for the historic office to multifamily conversion of the iconic Fidelity & Deposit Building in Baltimore, for which NGC provided 20% LTC C-PACE construction financing alongside three capital partners, as well as The Most Unique Financial Deal of 2023 for 2200 East Somerset, in Philadelphia, the first C-PACE financed multifamily deal, a planned 12-building apartment complex, for which NGC provided $17.9 million in C-PACE financing.
