Data has always been crucial in real estate. But the types of data available from real estate for use by parties such as investors, landlords and tenants are expanding exponentially. The value of data is being enhanced by new technologies able to collect, interrogate and exploit it. As we move into a future where the importance of data continues to grow, there are valuable lessons that the real estate industry can learn from other industries that have already experienced (or are experiencing) digital disruption and will need to become more sophisticated in how it commands data.
