Nuveen, the $1.3 trillion global investment manager of TIAA, has appointed Jonas Karlson and Ersen Taskiran as Director and Vice President of its Nordic business, both will report into Christoffer Hedberg, Head of Nordics and Benelux at Nuveen.
Jonas and Ersen will join Nuveen’s Global Client Group team as they expand Nuveen’s footprint in the region, working with existing and new clients across the wealth management and private banking markets.
Jonas has over 15 years’ experience in client servicing, business expansion and product development for the Swedish market. He joins from BlackRock, where he was Head of Asset Management Client Segment for the Nordic business. Jonas holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Stockholm and is fluent in Swedish and English.
Ersen has 17 years’ experience in client servicing, risk management and fund raising across Denmark and the UK. Most recently, he was Chief Client Manager and Head of Sales for Nykredit Portefølje Administration but previously held roles at Northern Trust, JP. Morgan and Danske Bank. Before starting his career in asset management, Ersen served as a Corporal in the Royal Danish Lifeguards Regiment and the NATO KFOR taskforce. He has a Bachelors’ degree in Finance from Copenhagen Business School.
Jonas will be based in Stockholm and Ersen will be based in Copenhagen.

Nuveen collectively serves approximately 400 institutional clients across the EMEA region, spanning a broad range of investors including pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, banks and family offices. The firm offers a wide range of separate accounts, commingled fund and UCITS strategies to investors across a broad spectrum of liquid and illiquid alternative strategies, such as real estate, natural capital, infrastructure, private equity and debt, in addition to equity and fixed income assets.
