Islazul Shopping Centre is the largest scheme in the south of Madrid within the city boundary, and is the third-largest centre in the region.
Islazul was developed in 2008 by Grupo Lar and Ivanhoe Cambridge to a very high quality and design standard. The asset is divided over two floors of retail use, a separate wing with a food court and leisure facilities, plus two levels of free car parking. The hypermarket Leclerc, which was not part of the initial transaction, was acquired on 25 April 2017. The plan to restructure the whole area (19,327 sq m including common areas) will take two years and has allowed strong tenants such as LIDL, Aki, Primark and Media Markt to open/resize their units at Islazul.
