Joseph Villani

Joe is a senior farmland portfolio manager at Nuveen Natural Capital. He works on analyzing farmland fund and property level performance as well as researching agricultural and macro-economic trends to drive strategy, which includes strategic and tactical allocations for the portfolios. Joe frequently works with investors to explain our research views and positioning of the global funds.

Prior to joining Nuveen Natural Capital, Joe worked on the debt side of agriculture, as an agricultural finance intern at MetLife Investments. In this role Joe analyzed the agricultural credit cycle and the impacts of that cycle on a multi-billion-dollar loan portfolio. Prior to MetLife, Joe worked as a loan officer at Farm Credit East where he managed a loan portfolio of diverse agricultural producers in the Northeastern portion of the United States.

Joe graduated with a B.S. in Finance and Business Administration from High Point University in North Carolina and a Master’s in Agribusiness from Texas A&M University.
