Josh Shamansky

Josh is Chief Human Resources Officer of Nuveen and a member of the Executive Management Team. He is responsible for the firm’s human resources strategy and execution for the global workforce including compensation and benefits, organizational design and effectiveness, and diversity, equity & inclusion. In addition, he leads Enterprise Total Rewards for Nuveen’s parent company, TIAA.

Josh joined TIAA in 2012, having most recently served as the company’s SVP, Chief Operating Officer for Human Resources. He has more than 20 years of human resources experience and during his tenure with TIAA, Josh also served as Chief Talent Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer for the Enterprise Risk Management and Advocacy & Oversight corporate areas.

Prior to TIAA, he worked at Chubb Limited as SVP, Global Head of Compensation and Benefits. Josh also held several leadership positions at Merrill Lynch including Head of Human Resources for Global Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities and Head of Global Human Resources Infrastructure, where he managed compensation and all HR services for its 61,000 employees. Josh graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Monmouth University.
