About Cadmus M. Hicks
Cadmus is the director of the performance risk and analysis group at Nuveen. He supports the separately managed account and mutual fund areas by analyzing performance attribution data and reporting on developments in the municipal market that could potentially affect performance.
Cadmus began working in the investment industry in 1980 when he joined the firm. During his tenure, he initiated the firm’s coverage of the tobacco bond sector and managed the municipal fixed income research department. Cadmus serves as one of the company’s leading experts on the municipal bond market, extensively writing about a broad array of topics including: tax policy, market regulation, financial planning, and credit issues. His publications include a chapter on tobacco bonds in Bond Credit Analysis: Framework and Case Studies (Frank Fabozzi Associates, 2001); a chapter on attribution analysis in Readings in Fixed Income Performance Attribution (TSG Publishing, 2008); and a chapter on inverse floating rate securities in The Handbook of Municipal Bonds (John Wiley & Sons, 2008).
Cadmus graduated with a B.A. from Wheaton College, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He holds the CFA designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.
