Anti-Money Laundering
The USA PATRIOT Act, signed by President Bush, is designed to detect, deter, and punish terrorists in the United States and abroad. The ACT imposes new anti-money laundering requirements on all financial institutions – from check-cashing and currency exchange stores to the largest banks, brokerage firms and mutual fund companies – including Nuveen Investments (and its affiliated investment advisers and funds).
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person or company that opens an account. When you open an account, you will be required to provide your name, address date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you and any other persons listed on your account which have trading authority.
Advisor Privacy
If you are an advisor, you will be asked for an email address when you register to access the Advisor Services area of the web site. Nuveen may use your address to notify you of information regarding the site and its features, and about other Nuveen products and services. If you do not wish to receive such information, please use the Contact Us feature on the site to notify us of your desire not to receive such notifications.
The following is additional information regarding the protection and confidentiality of the personal and account information Nuveen collects about investors through this web site. If you have questions, please call us at 1-800-257-8787.
Information we gather on the Nuveen web site, and what we do with it
Within the public areas of the Nuveen web site, no account or personal information is obtained for storage on Nuveen's or our transfer agents' systems other than information you enter. This information is used only to provide you with the information or materials that you specifically request.
The Nuveen Account Access System, which is designed for account holders whose accounts are held by JP Morgan/Chase and State Street Bank & Trust, and the financial advisors of those account holders, requires an account number, social security number, or tax identification number and an individually selected personal identification number (PIN) in order to protect your privacy. These numbers help us verify that you are authorized to access the account information you are asking to view. Please note that your PIN for online account access must be identical to the PIN used for the Nuveen Investor Services telephone account access system. As described below, cookies, in addition to expediting access to certain personalized screens, are used to give us a summary view of how our site is used. We analyze the collected data to determine how to make the site better and more efficient for our users. This tracking data is used only by Nuveen.
"Cookies" are data files sent by a web site to your personal computer's memory. They can be used to track activity of the site, and help enhance your subsequent access to personalized portions of the site.
This site uses cookies, which store your personal information on your personal computer. They also maintain an identifier on your personal computer that the Nuveen web site can recognize to retrieve certain information.
Your privacy and security are not compromised when your computer accepts a cookie from our web site. No other organization can access Nuveen cookie information but Nuveen.
How encryption further protects information sent to and from our web site
For the Account Access System, we use proven encryption methods to transmit account information across the Internet from our transfer agents (JP Morgan/Chase and State Street Bank & Trust). Use of this system is restricted to browsers that support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocols and 128-bit encryption. The 128-bit factor increases the difficulty of decoding a message and is today's highest level of encryption.
Encryption is a process that scrambles a message mathematically to conceal its content. This process is used to protect messages from tampering, forgery, and eavesdropping over the Internet.
SSL is the leading industry standard for security World Wide Web transmissions. It is supported by Netscape Navigator 4x, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4x, and AOL's 4X, web access. These browsers support SSL at 128-bit encryption. The 128-bit factor increases the difficulty of decoding a message and is today's highest level of encryption.
When you select the Account Access System, you will be alerted that you have entered a secured area. If your browser does not meet our SSL and encryption requirements, you will be provided with links to major browser web sites where you can download, at no charge, the most current browser available.
How you can correct and update personal information
If you need to update or correct any information that appears on the Account Access System, please contact us.
How you can block access to your account information from our web site

We understand, however, that some account holders may prefer not to participate in this service. If for any reason you wish to block access to your account information from this web site, please contact us. Please note that blocking access to your account via the web also blocks access to account information by telephone via Nuveen's Investor Services telephone account access system.
