Prior to joining NWQ in 2009, Nate spent three years with Tradewinds Global Investors, LLC as a Portfolio Manager and a Senior Research Analyst covering companies within the materials, precious metals and industrials sectors. Nate had originally joined NWQ as an Equity Analyst in October 2004 and transitioned to Tradewinds, NWQ’s affiliate, at its commencement in March 2006. Previous to this, he spent three years at Trust Company of the West as an Equity Analyst, where he covered industrial, basic material and business services companies for TCW portfolio management teams based in the United States and Europe. Prior to this, Nate was employed by Goldman Sachs' U.S. Equity Research Department and Morgan Stanley's Strategic Planning Group, where he was posted to extended assignments in London and Tokyo.

Nate graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in Economics and received his M.B.A. in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
