ICAP, founded in 1970,
is an institutional investment management firm. The Fund's management seeks to
protect capital during uncertain markets through time-tested risk management
strategies. Broad portfolio diversification, a rigorous sell discipline and the
flexibility to increase portfolio liquidity as market conditions warrant, all
seek to reduce volatility and stabilize returns over time.
The management experience of ICAP has produced solid investment results using a
catalyst-driven value investment style to identify exceptional values.
First, painstaking research is undertaken to identify established, well-known stocks
offering what the portfolio managers believe to be the best relative values.
That is, stocks of companies that are fundamentally sound but have
below-average price-to-book and price-to-earnings ratios.
Second, this narrowed field is screened again to select only those offering a catalyst,
such as a corporate restructuring, new product introduction or market
deregulation that has the potential to unlock hidden value and trigger
significant price appreciation.
Finally, only 40-50 stocks with the most attractive potential are chosen for the Fund's
portfolio. Each holding is closely monitored and sold when it reaches its
target price, its prospects changes, or another stock offers greater
opportunity. The result is a portfolio that seeks to provide long-term growth
potential with less risk than simple value investing alone.
