John co-directs HydePark’s investment activities including research, product development, trading, portfolio management and performance attribution. John also leads the research systems and infrastructure development for HydePark and is recognized as the creator of the Benjamin Graham Intelligent Value Indices. Prior to joining the firm, John was a senior trader and quantitative specialist at Nuveen Asset Management, a HydePark affiliate. There, John helped build out the institutional trading capabilities and was responsible for derivatives trading. Additionally, he has served in a variety of roles at Nuveen: portfolio management, research, and investment strategy development within equities, fixed income and alternatives.

John graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Science in genetics and developmental biology and a Bachelor of Arts in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and earned an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He is a CFA charterholder and holds FRM and PRM designations.
